The Magic continue its winning streak, clipping the Falcons 93-80 in men's A grade basketball at the Edgar Centre on Saturday.

The Andersons Bay Falcons started strong, winning the tip off and made the first few points.

But the Falcons soon fluttered in composure and made poor passes with the Magic quick to punish and convert the intercepts into points.

It was still anyone's game at halftime with the score 46-40 to the Magic.

It was messy basketball.

The Falcons were able to scratch the scoreline down to one point many times but never enough to take control.

Magic extended the lead to a ten-point ball game by the end of the third quarter and continued to hold the point gap through the fourth.

Magic was too quick on the fast break and was often throwing full court passes to an unguarded player for an easy two points.

The Falcons made it a physical match up with a lot of bodies hitting the deck, and both teams were in foul trouble in every quarter.

Magic was hard to stop with strong drives to the hoop and always managed to pass the ball to open players on the three-point line, for wide open shots.

Magic's Captain Micah Lepaio led the three-point shooting, hitting seven.

Falcon's Matt Bazsika was strong under the basket and picked up 12 points for the game.

"It was tough, we just couldn't defend their shooting and their transitions destroyed us today,'' he said.

Magic's Darcy Knox showed athletic greatness around the court, making some crafty assists, setting his team-mates up for easy baskets, Knox made 12 points himself. He said he found it hard to shoot in the cold conditions.

"Our shooting was sloppy but we got the win. It was a close one again, it would be nice to get a blowout win for a change sometime,'' he said.

Other games were cancelled, as Varsity A and B teams both defaulted due to university holidays.
