Commonwealth Games: Forsyth suffers first loss

New Zealand singles bowler Ali Forsyth today suffered his first defeat at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, losing to England's Sam Tolchard in a top-of-the-table clash.

Forsyth had been the only unbeaten bowler in either section at the start of today, but couldn't take advantage of early leads in both sets to go down 7-5 13-5.

However, with two rounds to go in section play this afternoon, he remains a solid chance of progressing through to the playoffs.

In the women's singles, Nelson's Val Smith beat India's Farzana Khan 14-3 8-6, but remained in the bottom half of her section with two rounds to go.
