New Zealand bowler Ali Forsyth was today knocked out of the
Commonwealth Games men's singles event, falling one match
short of making the semifinals in New Delhi.
The New South Wales-based Forsyth, who finished second in his
section, was beaten at the first playoff stage by Australian
Leif Selby 2-11 13-1 4-3.
New Zealand's medal hopes now rest with Nelson's Val Smith,
who beat England's Natalie Melmore 9-7 6-5 and will face
Australian Kelsey Cottrell in a semifinal this afternoon.
