Commonwealth Games: King to carry flag at closing ceremony

Squash double medallist Joelle King will carry the New Zealand flag into the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony in New Delhi tonight.

King, who won a women's doubles gold and mixed doubles silver to cap a marathon campaign last night, ended the Games as New Zealand's most successful athlete.

A team spokesperson said the 22-year-old was "overwhelmed" when chef de mission Dave Currie announced her duty at a New Zealand team function inside the athletes' village last night.
