Pace bowler Nicola Browne starred with the ball as the White Ferns cruised to a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in St Kitts today to book a women's Twenty20 world championship semifinal.
The New Zealanders will meet the West Indies in Saturday's second semifinal in St Lucia after the hosts eliminated the Ferns' bogey team England, the defending champions, in group A.
Browne took four for 15 off four overs as Pakistan limped to 65 for nine off their 20 overs.
She removed both Pakistan openers, caught behind by Rachel Priest, to rip through the top order.
Eighteen-year-old Kate Broadmore was another key figure for New Zealand, taking one for 12 off four overs and snaring two run-outs, while Lucy Doolan and Sophie Devine took one wicket apiece.
New Zealand cruised to their target off just 8.2 overs to go through unbeaten from group B.
Devine hit five fours in her innings of 23 off 21 balls before Sara McGlashan finished the job in style with a six to win the match as she ended unbeaten on 16 off 13.
