The North Otago Cricket Association will be employing two
professional coaches in the 2010-11 season.
Richard Turner, a 25-year-old Englishman, will be coaching
and playing for the St Kevin's College First XI, while Sean
Eathorne will be at Waitaki Boys' High School playing and
coaching the First XI.
Turner has captained the Fulwood and Broughton cricket club
for the past three seasons and is a top-order batsman and a
medium-fast bowler. He has completed a BA with honours at
Lancashire University and is a level two qualified ECB coach.
Eathorne has played his club cricket in Dunedin, last season
captaining the Carisbrook-Dunedin premier team. He
represented New Zealand at under-19 level and has been a
fringe player for the Otago Volts for the past three seasons.
Eathorne represented North Otago in the Hawke Cup round-robin
and challenge fixtures, scoring two centuries. Over the
winter he has been playing cricket for the Sparta Sports Club
in Rotterdam along with North Otago player Sean Conlan.
Hawke Cup champion North Otago's first zone round-robin
fixture is against South Canterbury in Timaru on the last
weekend in November.
