Cricket: Sri Lanka-Aust game reduced to 45 overs

The second Sri Lanka-Australia one-day international has been reduced to 45 overs per side after rain interrupted Sri Lanka's innings for almost an hour.

Sri Lanka was 161-2 when rain stopped play after 34 overs in the Sydney Cricket Ground game.

Opener Upul Tharanga was 70 not out and Kumar Sangakkara 28 not out when the umpires ruled light rain had become too persistent to continue.

Sri Lanka leads the three-match series after winning the first match at Melbourne by one wicket.
