Cricket: Otago routs Auckland for 46

Auckland has been routed in its first innings at the Plunket Shield match at the University Oval today, being bowled out by Otago for just 46.

The home side was dismissed early in the second day for 327 but Auckland made a shocking reply, losing all 10 wickets in just 18 overs.

Otago opening bowler Warren McSkimming picked up five wickets while Ian Butler grabbed three, getting the ball to swing in the overcast conditions. No Auckland batsman made double figures.

It was Auckland's second-lowest total. Its lowest was 13 against Canterbury in 1877-78.

Otago has enforced the follow-on.
