Cricket: NZ win toss, bat first

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in a cricket World Cup group A match at Pallekele, Sri Lanka, last night.

Jesse Ryder misses the match is replaced by Jamie How, while allrounder Jacob Oram comes in for pace bowler Hamish Bennett.

Pakistan are top of the group with six points after three wins from three games.

New Zealand have four points after victories over Kenya and Zimbabwe and a loss to Australia.
