Cricket: Green side to take on Sri Lanka

A very inexperienced New Zealand XI will take on Sri Lanka in a two-day warm-up match in Queenstown starting on Sunday.

The side is made up of promising players, including Otago all-rounder Josh Finnie and pace bowler Michael Snedden.

With the Plunket Shield taking place over the weekend and other possible players injured or still overseas playing for New Zealand, the team is made up of those left to give the Sri Lankans a game.

The first test against Sri Lanka will start on Boxing Day in Christchurch. .
