The Black Caps have won their fifth test of 2014 in convincing fashion, beating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in Christchurch today.

Sri Lanka set the Black Caps a total of 104 runs to win this afternoon, after being bowled out in their second innings for 407 and New Zealand reached their target comfortably with eight wickets in hand.

The Black Caps made 441 runs in their first innings and forced Sri Lanka to follow on after bowling them out for 138 in their first innings.

The win is the Black Caps' fifth test victory of the year - a New Zealand record.
