Green Island 273 for five beat North East Valley 137 by 136 runs

Green Island was always in control at Sunnyvale as North East Valley came under attack with bat and ball.

Scott Simpson almost carried his bat as he racked up 107 before being dismissed in the 49th over.

He shared a 173-run partnership with Ben Hitchcock, who was unbeaten on 88 at the end of 50 overs as Green Island amassed 273.

North East Valley got to 65 before losing its first wicket with Tom Griffin making 42.

But it totally collapsed and lost its last eight wickets for 13 runs as four batsmen were dismissed without troubling the scorers.

Dion Lobb picked up three wickets. His first was his 600th for Green Island.

Taieri 103 lost to Albion 105 for four, by six wickets
Taieri was never going to be in the hunt on its home ground against Albion as it could only just get past the century mark in its turn at bat.

Roald Badenhorst was the chief destroyer for Albion, taking five wickets after bowling a tight line.

Simon Cromarty top-scored with 35 at the top of the order for Taieri but no-one below him spent any time at the crease and Taieri was dismissed at the end of the 30th over.

Albion made light work of the chase and the match was all over at the start of the 18th over. Nick Beard was with Mark Somerville at the wicket when the winning runs were scored.

Kaikorai 142 lost to Carisbrook-Dunedin 148 for seven wickets by three wickets
The foundation of any good batting display is a solid partnership and Carisbrook-Dunedin had the one that mattered in a low-scoring encounter at Bishopscourt.

Kaikorai stumbled to 142 in just over 40 overs.

Ryan Duffy and Rhys Bayly had a promising second-wicket partnership but once that was broken no-one could make a decent score.

Sean Eathorne picked up three cheap wickets.

Brad Rodden and Michael Higgins shared the key partnership in the game, combining for a 97-run third-wicket partnership. Rodden hit 55 to easily top-score in the match.

Carisbrook-Dunedin made hard work of it in getting to the total, losing four wickets in 18 runs, but Eathorne got the side over the line.
