The back injury which ruled New Zealand allrounder Corey Anderson out of this year's tour of England has also sidelined him from the looming tour of Australia.

Anderson has been replaced by spin bowling allrounder Mitchell Santner in the 15-man squad which leaves next week for a tour comprising three tests.

Black Caps selector Gavin Larsen says Anderson had fallen behind in his recuperation and was deemed too great a risk to select in a squad which already features allrounder James Neesham.

New Zealand squad: Brendon McCullum (capt), Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Mark Craig, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, James Neesham, Luke Ronchi, Hamish Rutherford, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson.
