Justin Stott continued his run of good form to dominate all three stages of the Tour de Taieri on Saturday.

A veteran of three Tours of Southland, a multiple medallist at national age group track level and holder of a New Zealand record in the masters 1 team sprint, Stott seems to have left no stone unturned in preparation for the upcoming national club road championships.

The first stage included two ascents of the dreaded Berwick Hill with the finish on top of the hill.

Stott was able to get a jump on 16 year old young gun Kees Duyvestyn, the undisputed champion of local hill climb time trials, to cross first.

The 60km second stage saw these two and Geoff Keogh break away from the bunch. Stott again out kicked Duyvestyn for the win.

The last stage, a 5km time trial, allowed Stott to display his time trialling ability, after already proving his hill climbing, attacking and sprint skills.

Duyvestyn, hot on Stott's heels, was second overall, followed by Keogh, Lachie McGregor and Paul Gough.

Points were allocated for the first five places only and this resulted in tactical racing in the other grades, where some spots were decided only in the last stage.

B grade was won by the Wakatipu club's John Alabaster. Stu Crooks, Josh Baan and Ewan Syme claimed the minor placings.

In the women's section, the points system favoured Ella Harris. Tess Molloy, Phoebe Swale, Ruby Knight and Bailey Saville were next.

C grade was won by ironman Karen Rasmussen, who sealed victory with a sizzling time trial. Jan Brosnahan, Wally Kopae, Sam Kopae and Glenda Bruce rounded out the placings.

The large junior grade was won by Southlander Ronan Ferguson, ahead of Madeleine Gough, Madeleine Cooper Forster, Hunter Gough and Thirza Smith.
