Ryan Nelsen.
All Whites' skipper Ryan Nelsen could be set to sign with
Tottenham Hotspur from Blackburn after the English transfer
window ended today.
Before the transfer window shut at 12pm (NZT) Tottenham
manager Harry Redknapp said he was interested in signing
Nelsen.
"We just need to see whether I can take another central
defender because I've got William Gallas out long-term
through injury,'' he told the Daily Mail.
"I'm hoping to sign Ryan Nelsen on a free until the end of
the season. I think he's a great competitor and a good sort
to have at your club. Always liked him.''
Transfer announcements can still be made after the window
shuts.
Nelsen has played just one game for Blackburn this season
after struggling with a knee injury.
The 34-year-old has been at Blackburn Rovers since the 2005
season, and has played 172 games for the Lancashire-based
club.
Blackburn currently sit in the relegation zone. Tottenham are
third on the English Premier League table after beating Wigan
3-1 today.
