St Clair beat Otago Gold by 4.5 to 1.5 in the semifinal of the men's metropolitan Senior A pennant series on the Corstorphine course on Saturday.

St Clair will play Otago Blue in the final at Balmacewen this Saturday.

Brent McEwan was the consummate No 1, scoring 69 to account for Dylan Stock in 13 holes.

At No 3 for St Clair, Michael Ormandy turned two up and then won 10, 12 and 13 to beat Jodin Johnson 5 and 4.

Greg Johnson, the St Clair No 6, made four birdies on his way to beating Otago's Chris Timms on the 15th green.

St Clair's fourth and deciding win came when No 2 Stephen Hitchcox won 14 and 16 to beat Kris Rush on the 16th green.

Otago's only win came from No 4 Jeremy Morgan, who made a golden start with birdie 3s on the first three holes and was four up on Paul Brouwer at the turn.

Brouwer fought back to trail by one playing the final hole, which Morgan won with a par 4.

The halved match was between St Clair's Ryan Bellamy and Otago captain John McIntee.

McIntee looked set to post Otago Gold's second win at two ahead with five holes to play but Bellamy won the par 4 14th and the par 4 16th to escape with a half.
