Golfers have been greeted by calm, cool weather as they tee off at the New Zealand Open in Arrowtown this morning.

There is barely a puff of wind at The Hills and Millbrook, and some low scoring is expected.

The early leaders are New Zealand's Troy Ropiha (Hills) and the Australian pairing of Peter Wilson (Millbrook) and Geoff Drakeford (Hills). All are 2-under-par through three holes.

Most interest will be at Millbrook this morning as pro-am groups containing cricket greats Sir Ian Botham, Sir Viv Richards, Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting tee off.
