Lydia Ko has had a disappointing finish to her opening round at the US Open after a hot start that included three birdies over the first seven holes.

The world No 2 was 3-under through 10 holes before three bogeys on the back nine saw her card an even-par 70.

Ko was tied for 24th with players still out on the course.

American Marina Alex and Australia's Karrie Webb are the clubhouse leaders and four-under and both hit a first round 66.
