Inia Logan (Wakatipu Junior) showed his class in the Otago age-group championship, winning the under-23 and under-19 titles in the 36-hole event at Lower Waitaki yesterday.
Logan carded 73 in the morning but set a course record from the blue tees in the afternoon with a 5-under-par 67.
In his afternoon round, he was 5-under after the first seven holes, turned 3-under and played the back nine in 2-under 34.
Unfortunately, he is not available for the Otago under-19 team for the South Island event as he will be competing in the Charles Tour event at the Muriwai course in Auckland.
On 140, he was six shots ahead of Ryan Bellamy (St Clair) with Jakob Bleach (St Clair) posting the third-best score fn 147.
Callum Judkins (Wakatipu Junior) shot a par 72 in the morning which helped him win the under-16 trophy by eight shots from Annibel Evans (St Clair) and Daniel Arneson (Roxburgh).
Joseph Hancock (Waikouaiti) took under-14 honours with Callum White (St Clair) one shot back. Liam Judkins (Wakatipu Junior) was third with rounds of 81 and 80.
