Taranaki's Grant Moorhead holds a two shot lead after the first round of the Omaha Pro-Am at Omaha Beach Golf Club north of Auckland today.

Moorhead finished the day four under par 66.

A quiet start with five pars to open, then a birdie and eagle on six and seven, had Moorhead out in 33. He got to five under par with two more birdies on 10 and 11 before a three putt bogey on the 14th hole, then parred in for his score.

Two shots back is Brad Heaven, enjoying a couple of events back home while Canada thaws out. His 68 consisted of a birdie-bogey-birdie start to get to one under, then a couple more birdies on 5 and 11 before a bogey on the par three 15th hole.

One more shot back is Australian senior David Good, who mixed two birdies with two bogeys on his first nine, then added another birdie coming in for his 69.
