The No1 surface at the McMillan Hockey Centre should to be
ready for play in about two weeks.
The resurfacing work was meant to be completed by Christmas,
but Otago Hockey Association hockey and facilities manager
Sam Brown (pictured) said one of the machines used to sew the
seams broke and caused a delay over the festive season.
Despite the setback, Brown said it would not cause any
disruption to club hockey, which does not resume until the
beginning of March, and the association has capped the number
of teams in the summer league to allow for the resurfacing to
take place.
