The playing future of Feleti Mateo should be known in the next 24 hours, and the second-rower looks set to re-sign with the Warriors for another three years.

The 29-year-old, who plays his 150th NRL game against Penrith on Saturday night, is off contract at the end of the season and has been in lengthy talks with the club about staying.

He's also been a target of the Dragons, who have plenty of cash to spend after having offloaded five-eighth Jamie Soward to the Panthers.

Mateo and his wife are expecting the couple's first child in September and he has talked about his desire to return to Australia to be closer to family but he remains committed to the Warriors and an announcement is due soon.

"I'm hopefully close to announcing something, hopefully in the next day or two," Mateo said. "I want to go home, I want to stay here, there's so much to weigh up."

Mateo has been an ever-present in the Warriors side since his arrival in 2011, having played in all 61 games.

His re-signing comes on the back of last week's announcement winger Manu Vatuvei had penned a new two-year deal with the club and the capture of second-rower Jayson Bukuya from Cronulla on a two-year contract.
