Junior Warriors coach Stacey Jones is banking on having two of his established frontline players back for Sunday's NYC grand final against the Brisbane Broncos at ANZ Stadium.

Fullback Brad Abbey and winger Metia Lisati are likely to return from injuries after missing Saturday night's last-second 29-26 preliminary final win over Parramatta.

Both were named last week, but Abbey had not recovered from a hip injury and Lisati strained his hamstring in the team's final field training session on the eve of the encounter.

They have been named in an extended squad, and a final decision on the line-up will be made later in the week.

"We're hopeful they'll be right this week," Jones said.

"Brad's been one of our best players, especially in this latter part of the year. He has really stood up and played some really good footy."

The Junior Warriors will be making their fifth transtasman trip in as many weeks for their fourth grand final appearance in five years.

Junior Warriors: Brad Abbey, Ngataua Hukatai, Nathaniel Roache, Solomone Kata, Metia Lisati, Tuimoala Lolohea, Mason Lino (c), Sam Lisone (c), Kurt Robinson, Kouma Samson, Michael Ki, Adam Tuimavave-Gerrard, Jazz Tevaga. Interchange: James Bell, Toafofoa Sipley, Ken Maumalo, Iulio Afoa, Mafoa'aeata Hingano, Ofahiki Ogden.
