The South Pacific Raiders posted a century against an 11 man East Coast Eagles team in the Otago premier game at Kensington Oval on Saturday.

Ten Raiders got on the scoresheet, with Edward Perkins and Manassah Kutia grabbing three tries apiece, and Rema Smith, Jordan Ruatoe, Jordan Tua and Isaac Misky getting doubles, giving South Pacific a healthy boost in the points difference column with a 100 10 win.

Ben McKerchar had a great day with the boot, knocking over eight goals from 10 attempts, and was backed up well by Smith (five from eight). Ruatoe and Steven Campbell Paniona also kicked a goal each.

South Pacific coach David Reedy was pleased with the win, praising his men for being able to score as many points as they did.

''It's great to get a win, especially like that. Full credit to the Eagles _ they hung in there,'' Reedy said.

''We still have a bit to work on. It got a bit sloppy at the end there, but very happy with the result.''

The Eagles were missing players through injury and other commitments but fronted up to the defending champions two players short of a starting team.

Player coach Dave Broughton, who scored one of the Eagles' two tries, was proud of the way the team played despite the scoreline, and was pleased to get through 80 minutes without further injuries.

''There were a couple of times when it looked like they were giving up so I asked them to dig deep and they did,'' Broughton said.

''It was a tough grind, especially against South Pac. We just need guys to get to training.

''We have a few key players coming back soon so it is all about getting through this next period.''

In the weekend's other game, Kia Toa beat Otago University 34 10.

Kia Toa coach Ricky Fife said it was great to see hard work at training paying off.

''We are training hard and starting to get a roll going. There is a lot of preparation before the game _ everyone knows their role and is there for each other,'' Fifa said.

University welcomed back Ben Loughrey Webb from injury and his presence was felt on the field for the full 80 minutes.

''I wanted to play in the halves so I could hang out on the wing when I got tired but Ray [Fitiao, coach] put me in at hooker so that really wasn't an option,'' Loughrey Webb said.
