Veteran forwards Issac Luke and Adam Blair will be co-captains on New Zealand's three-test tour of England in November.

In the absence of regular skipper Simon Mannering, who was ruled out on Tuesday with stomach issues, Luke and Blair will lead a relatively inexperienced 23-man squad.

Announced on Thursday, the squad includes six new caps: Brisbane Broncos pair Jordan Kahu and Kodi Nikorima, Sydney Roosters duo Isaac Liu and Sio Siua Taukeiaho, Bulldogs winger Curtis Rona and Warriors utility Tuimoala Lolohea.

The biggest issue for coach Stephen Kearney is in the halves as he tries to fill the gap left by the withdrawal of star duo Shaun Johnson and Kieran Foran as well as veteran utility Thomas Leuluai due to injury.

New Zealand squad:

Adam Blair (co-capt), Issac Luke (co-capt), Gerard Beale, Jesse Bromwich, Lewis Brown, Alex Glenn, Tohu Harris, Peta Hiku, Jordan Kahu, Shaun Kenny-Dowell, Isaac Liu, Tuimoala Lolohea, Ben Matulino, Sam Moa, Jason Nightingale, Kodi Nikorima, Kevin Proctor, Curtis Rona, Sio Siua Taukeiaho, Jason Taumalolo, Martin Taupau, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Dean Whare.
