League: Auckland Nines draw announced

The Warriors will take on the Bulldogs, Sea Eagles and Broncos in pool play of the 2016 Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines at Eden Park.

The draw for the third edition of the short-form tournament - to take place on Waitangi Weekend February 6 and 7 - was unveiled by former Kangaroos captain and current Queensland State of Origin coach Mal Meninga and Kiwi model Kylie Bax in downtown Auckland today.

The draw revealed the make-up of the four pool groups named after Auckland sites with the Warriors the host side in the Hunua pool which has quickly been dubbed the 'pool of death'.

The Roosters, Rabbitohs, Eels and Storm make up the Waiheke pool, the Knights, 2014 inaugural tournament winners and reigning NRL premiers the Cowboys, Panthers and Tigers form the Rangitoto pool.

The fourth and final pool consists of the Dragons, Raiders, Sharks and Titans.
