St George Illawarra will attempt to put coach Paul McGregor's brush with the law behind them when they take on the Warriors in Auckland on Sunday.
McGregor is believed to have been fined $10,000 by the club after being charged with low-range drink-driving on Sunday morning.
Prop Mike Cooper said the Dragons mentor addressed the team on Thursday where he issued an unreserved apology.
"He spoke to us before it came out in the press yesterday. Obviously it was a big mistake from his part and it's a mistake he's truly sorry about," Cooper said at Sydney airport on Friday.
"I'm sure it won't happen again. He obviously made a bad judgement call, got it wrong, and he regrets that. He's apologised so it's dead and buried now."
Asked if McGregor set a bad example to the playing squad, Cooper said: "He just made a bad error.
"I don't want to comment too much about it other than the fact that he apologised to the players, apologised to the club, and he's come out made a public apology. There's not much more he can do."
The NRL is unlikely to take any further action, despite not being informed of the matter until Thursday.
"The integrity unit only gets involved if we deem the penalty is not appropriate but we don't expect any concerns," an NRL spokesperson told AAP.
Halfback Benji Marshall flew with the team to New Zealand and is a strong chance of playing, while hooker Mitch Rein is battling to play as he nurses a shoulder issue he picked up against the Sydney Roosters.
"We'll see how he goes tomorrow. He left the field with an AC injury in his shoulder," Cooper said.
"Obviously it's a pretty important position there, passing the ball, so if he doesn't feel comfortable he won't play."
