Jordan Luck and his band. |
Set down for Thursday December 29, the inaugural Sprintcar
Rockfest is a combined event showcasing a line-up of
international sprintcar drivers and New Zealand's legendary
Jordan Luck and his band rocking through the night at the
Central Motor Speedway.
Five hours of action-packed motorsport and some classic Kiwi
music, featuring favourites such as Victoria, Why Does Love
Do This to Me, Who Loves Who the Most and many more.
The speedway is located on the Queenstown-Cromwell highway,
approx 6km from Queenstown, and is nestled in a natural
amphitheatre which provides excellent spectator viewing and
is known for its ‘‘Rumble under the Mountains''.
Located on Sandflat Rd off State Highway 6, Central Motor
Speedway is in its 28th year of operation, is the only track
in Central Otago, and is one of only three division 1 tracks
in the Southern region.
There is no better place to enjoy the sound of roaring motors
and live rock music!
The area is known for calm hot evenings, so be sure to bring
a deckchair, sunscreen and shades! Racing will be non-stop,
featuring sprint cars only - ‘‘USA Format''.
Action starts from 5.30pm, with gates opening to the public
at 4pm. With no reserved seating allocated, the public should
go early to get their spot. They can take sealed water or
food, but no glass or alcohol. This is a licensed event with
alcohol and food available for purchase on site.
Buses are running from Queenstown.
Tickets are available from TicketDirect, participating Night
'n' Day stores and Golden Gate Super Liquor at Cromwell
(limited gate sales on the day). Prices range from $30 to
$50.
