Sam Blenkinsop was the best downhill performer as New Zealand
ended without a medal at the mountainbike world championships
in Mont Sainte Anne, Canada today.
Blenkinsop clocked the ninth-fastest time of four minutes
46.26 seconds in wet conditions which made the men's downhill
course tricky. His effort was nearly 9sec slower than
Australian winner Sam Hill.
Not far behind Blenkinsop were compatriots Brook MacDonald
and Justin Leov in 12th and 14th place respectively.
