Netball New Zealand's coaching director and Mystics coach Ruth Aitken will take charge of Singapore after next year's ANZ Championship.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to join Netball Singapore and continue coaching in the international arena," former Silver Ferns coach Aitken said.

''The Singapore national team has had recent success in the Asian Championships and I look forward to building on the great work of coach Kate Carpenter and her support team."

Aitken's official roles will be technical director and national coach.

Netball New Zealand chief executive Raelene Castle wished Aitken well.

"Ruth is an exceptional coach and while NNZ will miss her coaching services we are very pleased to keep her coaching expertise on the international stage," she said.

Singapore hosted the netball World Championships last year and will host the Asian Championships in 2014. The country is ranked 18th in the world.
