Silver Ferns defender Katrina Grant has re-signed with the Central Pulse for next year's ANZ Championship.

Grant, who already has 49 tests caps for New Zealand, will be representing her country at this month's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Pulse captain has played 87 transtasman competition games over the last seven seasons, having begun her career with the Southern Steel.

It's understood that Grant fielded offers from every New Zealand franchise except the Magic but chose to stay in Wellington to work under coach Robyn Broughton.

"I love Wellington and the Wellington people, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," Grant said in a statement. "It's also great to have another opportunity to work with Robbie as coach.

"We've been so close to making the playoffs these last couple of seasons and I'm looking forward to having another go."

The Pulse have lost mid-courter Camilla Lees who has gone to the Mystics but they have attempted to secure the services of goal attack Jodi Brown to replace Donna Wilkins who is likely to retire rather than return next year.
