St Hilda's won the senior A title at the Otago secondary school championships in Dunedin yesterday.

St Hilda's won 34-26 in the final against Waitaki Girls' High School at the Edgar Centre. In the third-fourth play-off, Otago Girls' High School beat South Otago 26-13.

In the senior B grade, Roxburgh Area School defeated Lawrence Area School 16-8 and East Otago beat Tokomairiro 23-19 in the third-fourth playoff.

In the intermediate grade for year 10 teams, Taieri College downed Otago Girls' High School 26-16 to win the final and Columba College defeated Wakatipu High School 19-14 in the third-fourth playoff.

The junior grade for year nine teams was won by St Hilda's which beat Columba College 26-23. Taieri College won the third and fourth playoff 18-12 over Wakatipu.
