Cathrine Latu has recommitted to the Northern Mystics next season, ending speculation over her future in the wake of her high-profile omission from the Silver Ferns World Cup squad.

Latu, the only foundation player still remaining at the Auckland franchise, took some time out to reconsider her netballing future after the disappointment of missing out of the New Zealand line-up for next month's tournament.

But she said her sights are now firmly set on what's ahead.

"The past month has been a rollercoaster for me," said Latu.

"Emotionally, it was one of the hardest times I've been through. The decision to stay and play for the Mystics, however, came quite easily.

"This region - and the people in it - have been hugely supportive of me over the years. That is a massive part of why I want to play a ninth season with the side. I am fiercely loyal and have never been handed more of a reason to make a difference to the team."

Mystics coach Debbie Fuller said Latu, who was the most-accurate goal shooter (93.8%) in this year's ANZ Championship, is a key signing for the team, bringing "experience, attacking prowess and accuracy" to the shooting end.

"She's a 'team first' player and has added something to her game every year," said Fuller.

"Cat's focus going forward is all about being a better player and enjoying the challenge."

Latu will likely pair up once again with Maria Tutaia in the shooting circle next season, with the Mystics expected to confirm the captain's signing, along with fellow Silver Fern Kayla Cullen next week. Teams must submit their final rosters for 2016 to the ANZ Championship office by August 28.

Mystics squad announced to date: Temalisi Fakahokotau, Serena Guthrie, Cathrine Latu, Nadia Loveday and Sulu Tone-Fitzpatrick.
