Netball: South expects close match

South will look to claw its way back up the table when it takes on Waikato-Bay of Plenty in its national league match tomorrow.

The southern side will take the court directly after the Steel's match against the Mystics at the Edgar Centre tomorrow afternoon.

South sits third on the table with two wins and two losses from four games but has played two fewer matches than competition leaders Central and Northern.

Waikato-Bay of Plenty is fourth of the five teams with two wins from five matches.

South coach Lauren Piebenga said the match would probably be a close contest.

"I think it's going to be the ability to turn that ball over and then treasure our own ball that could be the difference.

"We know they're a team that will never give an inch and they have some very talented players in there.''

The sides have met already this season, with South closing out a 50-44 win at Stadium Southland in Invercargill last month.

The match starts at 6pm and will be televised live on Sky Sport.
