Shooting superstar Jhaniele Fowler-Reid has been rewarded for her record-breaking year by being named the ANZ Championship New Zealand conference MVP for the second time.

Fowler-Reid has scored a championship high of 681 goals in 2016, the third time in four years she has passed 600 goals in a season.

She beat her own Steel record for goals in a season of 666 when she slotted 50 goals against the Swifts in the final round of the regular season.

The Jamaican, who brought up her 50th match for the southern franchise earlier this year, now has 2485 career goals at 91%, and is ninth on the all-time list.

"I feel like I have grown a lot this year and I've been happy with how I've been going,'' she said.

"This year I've started to take shots from further out, pushing me out of my comfort zone, and I've also worked on being much stronger under the post.''

It is the second year in a row Fowler-Reid has been named New Zealand conference MVP.

She was named overall MVP in her debut year in 2013, the same year she was named in the all-star team and won the best new talent award.

She was named in the all-star team again in 2014.

Melbourne Vixens mid-courter Madi Robinson was named the Australian conference MVP.
