Racing: JB Maguire resumes

JB Maguire is set to resume racing at Ascot Park on Saturday.

The Bettor's Delight 3yr-old gelding was turned out by trainer Cran Dalgety, to strengthen, after winning at Addington on October 30.

JB Maguire has won two of his five starts and recorded two thirds and a fourth. The $12,500 stake in a race for one-win (handicap) 3yr-olds decided Dalgety on a start.

A feature race on the card is the Southland Oaks, a race won by Mystic Gold, the dam of JB Maguire, in 1997.

• Is She Talking qualified 7.5sec inside the required time at Oamaru yesterday. Is She Talking is a 2yr-old filly by Bettor's Delight and the first foal of Sweet Talking Doll, the winner of two races and 11 times placed from the stable of Kevin Court, the owner-trainer-breeder of Is She Talking.

• The junior driver Joshua Dickie has been declared to drive Paramount Geegee in the $70,000 Sires' Stakes Championship for 3yr-old trotters at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.

Paramount Geegee, trained at Cambridge by Dickie's father, John, has been driven in seven of his 10 wins by Robbie Holmes, who is at Addington tomorrow night. He won the $97,000 Yearling Sales Trot at Rangiora on March 3 at his last start. He won as a 2yr-old at Alexandra Park.
