Melbourne pacer Sammy Maguire, the winner of 18 races, has
joined the Mark Purdon stable near Melbourne.
Sammy Maguire finished fourth in a trial at Tabcorp Park on
Monday in the hands of Purdon.
Sammy Maguire has not raced since he finished second to
Mister Zion in the $50,000 group two Mildura Pacing Cup Final
on April 10 for trainer-driver Gavin Lang.
Sammy Maguire, a 4yr-old half-brother by Mach Three to JB
Maguire, has also recorded 11 placings for stakes of $178,688
from 37 starts. His wins included the $50,000 Bendigo Cup.
JB Maguire, who missed a race when the Marlborough Cup
meeting was abandoned on Sunday, has drawn 6 in a 2-5 win
2200m (mobile) at Alexandra Park tomorrow night. It will be
his first start right handed.
He is to be driven for the first time by Maurice McKendry.
Colin De Filippi has replaced Craig Thornley on the in-form
Franco Lordship at Addington tomorrow night. Thornley, who
has driven the 3yr-old in his nine starts, is taking a
two-week overseas holiday.
Franco Lordship, a last-start winner at Waterlea last Friday,
has recorded three wins and five placings.
