Jaggard, upset winner of the White Robe Lodge Handicap at
Wingatui on February 4, has been entered for the $200,000
Otaki Stakes on Saturday.
Ryan Hurdle, who rode Jaggard to win the White Robe, is in
Brisbane on a scholarship.
He is due back home in Palmerston North next Wednesday.
Hurdle (17) rode Defenceman to win at Ipswich on Friday. He
has the mount on Defenceman in a $50,000 race at Eagle Farm
on Saturday. Defenceman is trained by Robert Heathcote, who
is hosting Hurdle.
The Solitaire, winner of the Dunedin Cup, has her next start
in a $25,000 open 1600m at Wingatui on March 10. She will use
the race as a lead-up to the $70,000 South Island Breeders'
Stakes (1600m) at Riccarton on March 24.
"She [The Solitaire] has just been freshened since the
Dunedin Cup," Steve Anderton, her Wingatui trainer, said.
Stablemate The Glitzy One, who ran fourth in the Dunedin Cup,
has her next start in the Cromwell Cup on Sunday week.
