The Otago Boys' High School First XV has dominated this year's intake at the Otago rugby academy.

Only one player picked for the academy this year - loose forward Kyle Harris, of Dunstan High School - did not play for the Otago Boys' side last year.

The rest of the intake is lock-loose forward Josh Dickson, loose forward Alex Fitzgerald, fullback Sean Connor, inside back Sam Ellis, midfield back Aleki Morris and halfback Josh Renton.

Lock-loose forward Troy Callander has signed for the Bay of Plenty union.

Otago Boys' High School had an outstanding season, losing just one game, to St Kentigern College, of Auckland, in the final of the national schools competition.

Five older players in the academy - loose forward Hadleigh May, midfield backs Fassiu Fuatau, Tei Waldron and Michael Collins, and lock Jackson Hemopo - have been selected for a national colts training squad.

Two further camps will be held in March and April before a New Zealand colts side is picked for the world junior championships in France in June.
