As part of O Week's celebrations, the Highlanders are taking on the Crusaders tonight at Forsyth Barr Stadium. Highlanders back-rower and University of Otago alumnus Gareth Evans spoke to the Otago Daily Times ahead of the game.

Q: If you were to take a career path other than rugby, what would it be?

A: I'd have to get a normal job - hopefully in my area of study, environmental management.

Q: Describe your fondest memory of being a scarfie?

A: My first year at UniCol, with a close second being flatting on Castle St the year after.

Q: What is your first memory of rugby?

A: Playing barefoot on cold frosty mornings as 5-year-old in Havelock North.

Q: What was your personal O Week highlight?

A: Realising I was a fresher, finally, and going to Macklemore at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Q: What were you doing at the age of 18?

A: Having a great time at UniCol and heading to the terraces at Carisbrook.

Q: What is next for you?

A: I'm focusing on my rugby - which I'm hoping will be a long-term focus - but I'm lucky to have my degree to fall back on.
