Rugby: Waitaki Boys' beat Otago Boys' 2nd XV

Waitaki Boys' were too good for Otago Boys' 2nd XV in their Southern Wide Real Estate 1st XV competition match today, running out 33-14 winners.

Coach Wayne Kinzett said the win came after a strong first and last 20 minutes, in which Waitaki Boys' played well and had the better of proceedings. He remarked that notably the one time his team tried to go wide, they found a way through and scored.

Throughout the middle 30 minutes Otago Boys' controlled the game through keeping it tight, utilising their strong forward pack and mauling effectively.

However, Waitaki Boys' withstood that period and finished strongly to claim a convincing win.

In other results South Otago High School beat Dunstan High School 33-20, while John McGlashan College were too good for Mount Aspiring College, winning 48-5.
