Kurow pulled off a massive upset in North Otago club rugby when it beat Old Boys 20-12 today.
It was the first loss this season for Old Boys, which appeared to be charging to a fifth straight Citizens Shield.
The two other games had contrasting results.
Athletic Marist had to hold off a spirited challenge from winless Maheno before escaping with a 34-32 win.
Excelsior thumped a slumping Valley side 70-25.
