Injuries have forced changes to the Otago team to take on Hawke's Bay tomorrow night.

Three players will make their debut for Otago against an experienced and powerful Magpies team.

Centre Jayden Spence rolled his ankle at training and is unavailable, so regular winger Matt Faddes comes into the No 13 position.

Faddes looked lively for his University club team in that position all year and will relish the opportunity to get more involved.

Fullback Tony Ensor moves to the right wing and Peter Breen comes into the side at the back.

Otago coach Cory Brown said Breen had performed well at fullback when he came on last week against Canterbury and gets a chance to start this game.

Gavin Stark comes into the reserves and will make his Otago debut if he gets on the field.

Flanker James Lentjes left the field last week with a suspected concussion. Brown said Lentjes had vision issues through the week and could not train.

It was hopefully coming right, Brown said.

Coming into the side to replace him, and making his debut at this level, is Theo Commissaris.

Commissaris is from the Canterbury system and was squeezed out by the talent in red and black country.

He came to Dunedin about midway through the season and played club rugby for Kaikorai. Brown said Commissaris had impressed in his club games and would be keen to make an impact.

Also in the pack, lock Jackson Hemopo has picked up a knee injury and will miss the game. He damaged his medial ligament in the early stages of last week's game but battled through.

With Tom Franklin (elbow) and Joe Latta (eye socket) both injured, Blair Tweed has come into the team and will make his first-class debut.

Prop Aki Seiuli is over his knee problem and takes his place in the reserves.

Hawkes Bay has named a powerful side and All Black fullback Israel Dagg comes straight into the team.

Zac Guildford is on the wing with Highlander Ryan Tongia.

Richard Buckman takes his place at centre while other Highlanders in the side are front-rowers Brendon Edmonds and Ash Dixon.

New Zealand colt and Southern hooker Ricky Riccitelli will come off the bench for the Bay.

Highlanders loose forward Gareth Evans broke his arm last week against Northland and is out for the season.
