Dunedin and Kaikorai will contest next week's Dunedin Premier Club Rugby final, after claiming upset wins in their semifinals at University Oval today.
Kaikorai came from behind to beat University 31-29 with two late tries. University shot out to an early lead after scoring three tries to Kaikorai's one, showing their ability to be opportunistic and attack from long-range.
However, Kaikorai hit back with two of their own before the break to close the gap. University held the lead heading into the last five minutes, but Kaikorai rallied to get the job done. It was just University's third loss of the season, although one of those came last week against Kaikorai.
In the early game Dunedin kicked a penalty inside the final two minutes to win 21-20 in a tightly fought game. Harbour scored four tries to Dunedin's two, but the inability to kick their goals prevented them snatching the win.
