Rugby: Southern fans quick to buy test tickets

More than a third of tickets to the All Blacks-England test at Forsyth Barr Stadium have been sold.

About 10,000 of the 29,000 tickets had sold by yesterday afternoon, Dunedin Venues Management Ltd marketing and communications manager Kim Barnes said.

Eager fans were waiting to buy the first release of tickets for those south of the Waitaki River in the stadium car park when she arrived at work at 8.15am, Mrs Barnes said.

The sales had been ''fantastic'' and she encouraged fans to ''get in as quickly as they can'' as tickets to the June 14 test were expected to sell out.

A deal for those who live south of the Waitaki River runs until Sunday.
