Think you're a fan of the All Blacks?

Well now's your chance to prove it and at the same time win a visit by the players before they shoot off to London to defend their Rugby World Cup title.

Kiwis are encouraged to come up with an idea that shows how crazy they are about the All Blacks to be in to win a visit to their town, workplace, school, club, in the new All Blacks to the Nation campaign.

Eight lucky communities will be chosen with the visit taking place on Thursday, September 3.

"We understand that every small town to every big city [is] right behind us and we know how important that is," said All Blacks halfback Andy Ellis.

Fellow team-mate Colin Slade said it gave the players a chance to go out there and visit fans in small towns and communities that didn't usually get to see them.

As for what it might take to win a visit, All Blacks lock Sam Whitelock listed a range of possibilities.

"You can make a team song, make a wee dance up for it, make a movie… paint the whole town black."

Slade suggested some four-legged extras might help, saying "I'm a dog fan so if you get the dogs involved or sheep to spell out the All Blacks, you might be in with a win there."

Ellis said that "If the whole school, or a whole club stood up and did a big, awesome haka, that would be great!"

Food could also be the way to the heart of a winning entry.

"I'm keen on the kids getting in the kitchen and doing a bit of baking," said Joe Moody. "I don't mind a muffin - banana chocolate chip is my go-to!"

Entries into the competition close on Wednesday August 12.
