All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster has said Colin Slade is fine after an injury scare at training today.

First-five Slade hurt his knee during training in bad weather at the Hutt Recreation Ground.

"He slipped over and tweaked his knee," Foster told media after the training.

"He was walking around afterwards. He's fine."

Foster said the injury scare wouldn't change the All Blacks' approach at training.

"We're preparing for a Rugby World Cup. It's a contact sport. We've got to make sure we're battle hardened and ready to go."

Slade was ruled out of the last World Cup due to a groin injury. That was after he became the All Blacks starter in the number 10 jersey following a similar injury to Dan Carter.
