Carter picked up a leg injury in the side's opening game against the Rebels - which it lost.
Crusaders assistant coach Aaron Mauger confirmed today Carter will not play on Saturday at Forsyth Barr Stadium as he was still feeling the leg injury at a light training run this morning.
