Snowboarding: Four Kiwis into Wanaka slopestyle semis

Four New Zealanders were among 15 qualifiers for the semifinals in the slopestyle event at the New Zealand Open snowboarding championships at Wanaka today.

High winds and poor visibility delayed the start of competition on a 800m course which featured more than 80 riders from 13 countries.

The topscoring qualifier was American Sam Hulbert, 0.17 points ahead of New Zealander Nick Brown.

The other New Zealanders to qualify were Nick Hyne, Connor Harding and Neville Lapwood.

Due to the delayed start, all 22 women qualifiers will go through to tomorrow's semifinals, competing against back-to-back X-Games gold medallist, Jamie Anderson, of the United States.
