Brazier won the overall award for a second straight year at the institute's awards ceremony on Thursday night.
The dynamic back was the leading scorer at the Women's Rugby World Cup last month, helping the Black Ferns to a fourth consecutive title.
She also played for the New Zealand sevens team in Hong Kong.
With sevens included in the 2016 Olympics, Brazier will have plenty of motivation to keep playing the short form of the game.
Brazier, who turns 21 on Thursday, was also a key player in the Alhambra-Union side that defended its Dunedin women's club title this year.
She also won the institute's ambassador award.
Excellence and leadership awards were presented to Immanuel Feci (outdoor leadership and management), Sam Malcolm (personal training and exercise prescription), Luke Small (sporting performance), Anthony Staples (sport management and coaching) and Michael Jacobs (physical conditioning).
